Michaela is a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) specialist, with a track record spanning over fifteen years. Michaela's path into SEO began with a creative twist – managing digital content for a London illustration agency - before venturing out on her own. As a consultant, she wore many digital hats - from website portfolios to blogs, email newsletters, and social media management. Her journey continued in New Zealand, where she immersed in the Kiwi digital marketing scene. For the last two years, Michaela has held the Head of SEO title and discovered her passion for teaching and skill development. She has joined NZIE to lead our SEO course, where she is dedicated to providing our students with a comprehensive understanding of SEO, and equipping them with the tools to make informed strategic decisions based on their unique business objectives, time, and budget.

Who meets the entry criteria for SEO Course?

Be employed or seeking employment in small to medium businesses or organisation.  You’ll need to meet the following English Language requirements:  

  • Successfully completed 3 years secondary education in English from one of the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States; OR  
  • Successfully completed an NZQA level 3 study, or equivalent, in any subject in English from one of the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States; OR  
  • Successfully attained an IELTS score of 5.5 with no band below 5 OR an equivalent test.

What are the fees for SEO Course?

The fee is $98(including GST).  

Are there exams? How will I be assessed?

There are no exams.  Your assessment will be portfolio-based and you’ll develop this over the 7 week course.  At the conclusion of the programme, you will have developed a completed a seo strategy ready to implement.  

Is SEO Course NZQA accredited?

Yes, This programme leads to the award of the Certificate in Search Engine Optimisation (Micro Credential). 

Learners who successfully complete the requirements of this programme will be awarded the Certificate in Search Engine Optimisation (Micro Credential) and will be recorded on the Learner’s NZQA Record of Learning.   

To be awarded the Certificate in Search Engine Optimisation, learners must complete all assessment requirements.  

What’s the difference between this course and your Diploma in Digital Marketing?

This seo course focuses on a specific skill. In this case, developing a Search Engine Optomisation  Strategy. Our Diploma in Digital Marketing is a longer format and goes more in-depth into disciplines of Digital Marketing. Entry Criteria:

To be admitted into NZ Certificate in English Language Level 4 General, all applicants must meet the following requirements:

a) Be a speaker of English as an additional language; and

b) Hold a NZCEL Applied Level 3 [3667] qualification; or

c) Pass an NZIE entry test that meets the requirements for the CEFR B2 requirements or equivalent; and

d) Be of a minimum age of 16 years or older; and.

e) Be a New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency OR Certificate of Refugee Status and evidence of eligibility to study for the duration of enrolment.
