Advanced IT Qualification
Looking for an advanced IT qualification? Join our industry-recognised programme in New Zealand’s biggest IT city.
In this advanced computing course we extend the ideas from the Level 5 course to implement, manage and design Microsoft Windows networks. This course prepares you for several industry certifications. During the course students may prepare for Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) server administrator.
Our campus is conveniently located in North Shore City, the home of many leading local and international IT companies.
During the course and also after graduating you will receive ‘mentorship’ and ‘internship’ opportunities with an employer so you can get some really good experience in the workplace. This programme is unique to NZIE and Avonmore and is offered as part of the course at no extra cost to you.
Duration: 37 weeks + 3 weeks holiday
Starting Dates: 14th January , 29th April

Qualifications the student will gain:
- Avonmore Diploma in Computer Network Engineering Level 6
- MCTS: Server Admin
- MCTS: Network Infrastructure
Employment Opportunities:
Network Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Network Engineer, I.T. Technician, Network Engineer, Help Desk Operator. NZIE’s own Recruitment Agency , ‘Think Recruit’ will assist you with work placement.
Study Pathways:
Enrol on a Bachelor of Computing Science course at a NZ University.
New Zealand Students
- A minimum age of 17
- A desire to work in the I.T. industry
- Passing an Avonmore Entry test which covers literacy and numeracy
International students
- 5.5 or higher for IELTS (or an equivalent test)
- Students must be at least 18 years old.
