WORK EXPERIENCE / INTERNSHIPS / PAID WORK
Work experience is any voluntary employment spent in a workplace. It’s a great opportunity to put into practice your classroom learning, which can last from one day to several months. Work experience is often a great way to get “a foot in the door,” and many times an employer could offer paid employment once they see the skills you have to offer.
- Diploma in Applied Business Level 7:
Students are required to complete 240 hours over a 12-week period within a company related to your chosen major, where you will have the opportunity to put your theoretical skills into practice. You are also required to complete a research project as part of your internship. Our Diploma in Business is highly desirable to students because of the internship it offers.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Business Level 8:
From the beginning of your Postgraduate in Business programme, you will build your applied research skills by working collaboratively in a co-creative relationship with a New Zealand business or organisation and its stakeholders. You’ll provide recommendations to ‘real’ business problems and opportunities for your chosen business. In your last module, you’ll be working in a New Zealand business or organisation within your chosen field, and further develop your business and management skills and knowledge.
