Programme Description:

The Film course at the New Zealand Institute of Education takes you on a journey from writing your own script to filming a short film using digital media. You will not only study the techniques and methodology of film making but also be exposed to the influence of Maori culture on film in New Zealand.

A key stakeholder of the Institute of Education is one of eight board members appouinted by the New Zealand government to represent the New Zealand Film Commission. .

  • Script writing including visualising the script
  • Camera work
  • Lighting techniques
  • Product techniques
  • Basic directing
  • Editing
  • Visual effects
  • Action and special effects

Course Requirements:

  • Maximum of 15 students per course
  • Courses may be customised

Programme Outcomes:

This practical course will ensure that you complete your own short film during the course while experiencing the safety, warmth and hospitality of New Zealand.
