NZIE is a global community with both staff and students coming from many different countries. One of our aims is to give students a wide range of skills that are useful in the international marketplace of today. This mix of cultures and ages at the Institute gives students opportunities to learn, not only from books and lecturers, but also from their classmates.
Our primary focus is our students. We strive to deliver the best quality teaching, service and facilities. We always aim to provide all students with a level of learning which matches their needs and aspirations.
Tailored Options for International Students
The students can choose from our range of English, Business and Computing qualifications. NZIE is a signatory to the Code of Practice for the pastoral care of international students.
Smaller Classes Leading to Better Results
The Institute teaching staff enjoy the personal contact with students that smaller classes allows. In addition to the friendliness of the small group, this also enables teachers to track each student's progress, and ensure each gets the best possible result from their studies.
Our lecturers and teachers take a personal interest in each student's goals and aspirations and can offer extra help when needed. Our teachers are a dedicated team, and each teacher ensures his or her students are fully guided and supported in their study.
Entry Dates
Most programmes are designed with several entry points for new students. This means you can join a programme at the entry level that matches your current skill level, enabling students to fast-track some of the courses. Our students often complete a qualification in a shorter time than they could have at some traditional institutes.
Credit Transfer
Students can apply for credit recognition from previous tertiary study when applying for higher level Diploma courses.
NZQA and MOE Requirements
Accredited with NZQA since 1996 to offer unit standards from the National Qualifications framework, New Zealand Institute of Education now has a wide range of qualifications and courses registered and approved by both NZQA and the Ministry of Education (MOE).
The Institute complies with operational requirements of both NZQA and MOE in the areas of policies, procedures, reporting, financial management, statistics and record keeping, academic standards and staff conditions.
